Christmas Crunch Party Mix

Pinterest can be dangerous.  I think I have a wish list of 50 DIY projects and about 100 snacks I'd like to try and that's just in the Christmas season. Unfortunately, I probably only have time to make about 2 or 3 and then it seems like the holidays are over as fast as they came.  This was one of the 50 snacks (originally posted by Cooking Classy) and I'm so glad I chose this one!  You will be making this mix for every holiday party you attend in the next week.  Its so easy!

I started with a couple of bags of Orville microwave white popcorn.

You'll also need some M&M's (I chose the mint kind, which I highly recommend!), white
baking chocolate, and Christmas sprinkles.  Not pictured are the mini pretzels...sorry!

I had two little elves break apart and measure out the cup of pretzels and
M&M's while I melted the chocolate.

The same two little elves were also put in charge of mixing it together in
a large bowl.

I drizzled the mixture with a bag of melted Wiltons Candy Melts.

I realized it was easier to layout the mixture on a cookie sheet and drizzle with
the white chocolate, then the elves returned to top the mix with the sprinkles.

Voila!  So good!!  Its one of those snacks that once you start eating, you can't get enough of.   Its so easy too!   I hope you get to enjoy some through the holiday season!

Thanks for stopping by!

Kentucky Derby Party - A Day at the Derby

It was Derby Day and my cousin Chrissy went all out for her annual Kentucky Derby Party!  Unfortunately being that I live 1000 miles away, I couldn't be there but my brother was making his first appearance, along with many other family members so I really wanted to fimnd a way to be a part of it.  I found a lovely printable party by The Side Stuff which I thought would be perfect for her,  and combined it with a few pieces from Mirabelle Creations.  I put everything together for her and shipped it off.  I LOVE the results!!  Great job Chrissy!!

I love how it all came together!  The cake might just be my favorite part!  But it almost looks too pretty to cut into...almost :)

Here's hoping that I can be there in person next year!!  Looks like it was a fun day!  Great job Chrissy!

A Father's Day Golf Themed PAR-TEE

If I ever asked my husband what he would prefer to do on Father's Day, the answer would always be "play golf".  So when my daughter was signed up for a 2 day golf tournament this Father's Day weekend, there could not be anything more he'd rather do than to caddy this event for her.  And since I didn't have any parties planned this same weekend, I couldn't think of anything more I'd rather do than throw a party to let him know not only what a great caddy he is but a great father and husband!

We invited our good friends over who also share our love for the game!  Our girls were paired together each day and it made for a wonderful weekend.   I prepped for the party all afternoon while they were golfing and loved surprising them with this hole in one party when they all arrived home!

Before I share the pics, I'm excited to tell you Bird's Party designed these printables and her party styled by Banner Events seen here was a great inspiration.  As soon as I saw it featured on HWTM, I knew it was perfect for our own Father's Day event!  If you haven't visited Bird's Party, be sure to stop by her blog and see all the creavity she has going on.  Her designs are amazing!

Our golf themed favor table was adorned with pictures of the girls and their caddies at past tournaments, trophy shots and action shots!   Each chair had a caddy bib for a chair cover.

I loved naming the food.  My daughter the golfer helped me with a few of the names.

Potato Chips = Chip Shots
Water Bottles = Water Hazards
Sandwiches = Club Sandwiches
Fruit = Fruit Wedges
Pretzel Rods = Flag Sticks
Donut Holes = Bucket of Balls

My favorite food item was of course the golf ball cake pops which I made myself.  Cake pops are my all time favorite dessert  and it only seemed appropriate to serve them as golf balls.  So I decided to try it myself if I could find a golf ball mold.  It was time consuming but well worth it.  I thought they turned out pretty good for my first try!

This was definitely a favorite of mine and held a special place in my heart!  It was a wonderful time with wonderful friends.  And to top it our girls placed 2nd and 3rd in the tournament that weekend!!

Garden Fairy Party

I can't believe I haven't written a post for almost 2 months!  I apologize to all my fans who have been anxiously sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for me (yes, that was sarcasm folks!).  I'm going to try to update as much as I can this week for you all!

I wanted to start by sharing a beautiful and colorful Garden Fairy Party.  I was thrilled with how it all came together but unfortunately wasn't able to get the pictures to show it.  But I will share what I was able to capture.

(Thank you Pinkadot Shop for these perfect party printables!)

The girls Fairy tables were dressed with colorful fairy wings on each chair, and tutus and butterflies were a common theme throughout the party decor.  The girls had plenty of dress up clothes and accessories to flutter around in.  Activities included decorating your own fairy house and making magical pixie dust in their very own take home bottle!

And not to be left out were our little pirates, who had just as much fun as our fairies.  They sported their pirate patches and bandanas while having a ball decorating their own treasure chests and pirate swords.

The pirate booty...

The fairy jewels...

It was a beautiful day, but in hindsight this is one party I would have loved to have had a professional photographer to capture all the details.  I am definitely NOT a jack of all trades.  But I hope you enjoyed the little bits I was able to show off!

Smores in a Cone

I'm always on the lookout for a tasty little smores treat.  One of my favorites is Smores on a Stick, seen here...

Its all about simplicity in my house.  Something that I can whip up with ingredients we already have sitting in my pantry.  So I went looking for something different the other night and found THIS blog. So cute, and now one of my favorites!  I found her recipe for a bite size smores snack in a cone!!  Everything is better in a cone so I knew this was the perfect treat for my kids!

Here are the ingredients:

Mini cones
Marshmellows
Chocolate chips

First, I lined a cookie sheet with tin foil, but I didn't flatten it.  As advised in Life as a Mom I took her tip to poke some holes in the tin foil to hold my cones up right. Once they are standing, fill half full with the chips.

Then stick your marshmellow right on top!

Bake on 350 degrees for about 5 minutes and you'll get this...

Let sit for just a couple of minutes, so it cools off and the chips melt just a little.  You'll love it!  And you won't want just one!!

Enjoy!!

Spa Time

So far, 2012 has been the year of the Spa Party!  Every girl loves to be pampered right?  And they are learning young!  Our Spa Parties are quickly becoming our most requested party theme, and who can blame them when girls are treated to manis and pedis, facials and a load of spa goodies from our Beauty Bar!!  Take a look at a recent Spa Party we hosted for 10 adorable girls....

The hit of every Spa Party we do is The Beauty Bar!  Guests take a basket and gather the spa items they need to pamper themselves during the party and on their own time at home!!

Our Spa Party wouldn't be complete without facials!  Made from yogurt and honey, the girls get to mix their own facial cream and apply to their face.  Then sit back and relax with some cucumbers!

Once all the nails and toes had dried, and the girls made their bath salts, it was time for cupcakes!!  We had a blast pampering these 10 special little girls and I can't think of a better way for a girl to spend her birthday!

Thanks for stopping by My Party Dreamz!!
